Anyone else get annoyed by the amount of people who think Wilfre is a hero for his actions in TNC?

I mean whether or not the colour should have been drained to save the Raposa world is debatable, but one thing that isn't is whether or not Wilfre was a hero.

His intentions were not pure, so I wouldn't really call him at all heroic.

Remember in the first game Wilfre tried to destroy the Raposa village, so if anything he's done more harm to the raposa than good.

Also Wilfre's objective in TNC wasn't just to drain colour. Think about this:

He stole Rose's voice to try and kill her and make Watersong vanish. This would not contribute to the preservation of the Raposa world.

He convinced Miney to enslave Lavasteam. This also didn't help save the Raposa world.

He convinced Click to pretty much arrest everyone in Galactic Jungle.

Those actions if you ask me are enough evidence to say Wilfre did not care about the Raposa, but was only out to save his own life.

Even if his actions by drainning the colour were heroic, his intentions surely weren't.

And remember all his cruel actions as listed above.

That is for me enough to classify him as a villain. Which many people do, but sadly there are Wilfrefangirls who's love for Wilfre simply come out of his attempt to drain the colour from the Raposa world.

What are you guys thoughts?

I definitely understand and agree with how you feel. I always thought I was crazy for believing Wilfre to be evil while everyone else thought he was a hero. I have a few more points to add to yours:

1) In TNC, if Wilfre really wanted to help the raposa, why didn't he show them whatever it is that he showed Mari and Jowee at the end of the game that convinced them their world was a dream, from the start? Why didn't he at least try to convince them he was trying to help?

2) He is literally laughing evilly throughout the entire game. I don't think there a single point where he shows genuine concern or worry for the Raposa people. He never apologized for his past actions. He just arrogantly proclaims himself of the world's savior.

3) I'm pretty sure the developers wanted him to be a sort of analogy of Satan, though if you're not a religious person, this point not might have as much gravity. He defied the Creator and cause the fall of the Raposa race from grace.

4) He kidnapped and possessed Heather, who is a young and innocent Raposa. And, once again, laughing evilly as he does it. He also, in his sock form, pretend to be Sock and manipulated Jowee. Along with the actions you mentioned above, was this all necessary? Couldn't he have just taken the pendant by force? He seems like a sadist, or at least is acting like one.

It's possible that perhaps he a deluded or mad in the head, thinking that these actions are heroic, but even he is definitely doing more harm than good. In my mind, Wilfre was and always will be, a villain. I agree when Mari said that he only wanted to save himself.

Thank you for someone stating this topic! There is nothing wrong with being fond of a character, even a bad character (I think...?) [because I like all the characters in DTL, and that includes Wilfre, even with his flaws] but that doesn't mean all their actions are or should be considered as good because of it...

I've never been sure what to think of this kind of opinion, apart from the fact that I don't agree with it [I don't agree with the fangirly-type-opinion that Wilfre is an innocent fluffy Rapo who never did anything wrong... I mean, he did kinda murder the Mayor...  : / )
